Another hat has been tossed into the ring that is the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly race. Dan Rohrer filed on Tuesday seeking one of the three, three-year terms.
He joins Brenda Schwantes, Larry LeDoux and incumbents Tuck Bonney and Dave Kaplan. The third incumbent, Mel Stephens, has not yet filed.
There’s a single candidate for one of the 10 service, road or fire district seats available. Richard Carstens is running for one of the two seats on the Fire Protection Area Number 1 Board.
Jeffrey Stewart remains the sole candidate for the two seats coming open on the school board.
Meanwhile, there are so far no candidates for either of the open seats on the Kodiak City Council. City Clerk Deb Marlar reminds interested city residents that the deadline for filing is 4:30 Friday afternoon. The incumbents are Terry Haines and Randy Bishop.
